Where the Yoshino River winds deep into the mountains of Iya, a phenomenon of mists gathering and flowing through the valley is called the “sea of clouds”. These conditions shift depending on not only the area’s geography, but also the daily weather and the temperature of the river water. But in Awashi (depending on the season), you can view this natural phenomenon almost daily! Rise before the sun and bask in the majesty of nature.
