After seeing all of the many sights in Kyoto, unwind with this relaxing sweets-making workshop. Visit a cooking studio inside a traditional Japanese home near Fushimi Inari Shrine. Learn to make a variety of classic Japanese desserts from your experienced host. Start off by grinding your own matcha green tea, a perfect pairing for the desserts you’ll be making. Then try your hand at modern fusion cuisine by mixing Japan’s iconic soft rice cakes called mochi with ice cream. Make your own colorful dango rice dumplings which are often eaten alongside matcha tea under the cherry blossoms in spring. Finish off the experience with a true classic, Taiyaki. This fish shaped cake is filled with red bean paste and largely considered one of the most iconic desserts in the country. Unwind surrounded by the rich culinary culture and history of Kyoto.
