【OBP】Seaside Sake in Kesennuma
Sample sake from Otokoyama brewery and a special brew that has been fermenting under the waves of Kesennuma oyster farms for months.
Located in the fishing port of Kesennuma, Otokoyama Sake Brewery makes some of the most interesting sake rice wine in Japan. The secret to their brew is fermenting the batches underwater to create a unique flavor. Since 2006 they have been adjusting the depth, packaging, and aging time to make the perfect bottle of sake. Start the tour off at their main store and explore the brewery with an English-speaking guide. Learn about the process then put your knowledge to the test as you package your own sake bottle to ferment. It will be ready in a few months so make sure to leave a special note for the next group to go out and pick it up. Take your bottle and board a boat bound for the local oyster farms to start your own fermentation process and pick up a finished bottle from the last group for yourself to enjoy. Finish the day by sipping your new drink with a special dinner featuring local products back at the factory.
