Chef Takayama transforms local Hiroshima ingredients into artistic masterpieces that appeal to all five senses.

By serving a maximum of 18 guests at a time, Chef Kazunori Takayama ensures the highest level of hospitality and cuisine at his restaurant, Nihonryori Takayama.  


Takayama’s Hiroshima restaurant has an inviting atmosphere, with amber lighting and an L-shaped solid wood counter that encircles the open kitchen. Up to 12 guests can sit here, chatting casually with the chef as he meticulously prepares each plate. Drawing from Hiroshima’s local ingredients and bountiful seafood, Chef Takayama creates innovative dishes that appeal to all five senses.  


Takayama began his training at age 15 under the renowned chef Toshiro Kandagawa, famous for competing on the Japanese television show, Iron Chef. Following his training, Takayama became head chef at Miyajima Kinsuikan and the Clayton Bay Hotel, before opening Nihonryori Takayama in 2010.
